On 15th September the first TEDx conference was organized in Győr, and with more enthusiastic volunteers Mrs Horváth Borsodi Mónika took part in the team of organizers. The TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a non-profit organization and it is a unique conference series that is committed to the principles of Ideas Worth Spreading. TED conferences mean inspiring and outstandingly intensive experience with their 18-minute long or even shorter thought-provoking but entertaining presentations. The presenters have been, among other Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson and Bono. At TED conferences videos are recorded, which are available to anyone after the events. All the performances are available on the website of TED (www.ted.com). The success of TED in 2006 brought TEDx to life, that is a local, independently organized ‘little brother’ of TED conferences. The TEDx licence helps the local organizers to organize conferences for their local community similarly to TED conferences. The first TEDx performance of Győr will soon be available at www.tedxgyor.com and on youtube.
